About Ralph Holt

Within six months of leaving school Ralph was extremely fortunate to find himself employed by one of the most highly regarded members in the Antique Silver world, John Bourdon-Smith. With no previous knowledge of English domestic silver it was fortunate that John was so generous with his and as a consequence he provided Ralph with a first class education. Five years spent at Phillips Auctioneers furthered and broadened his interests, particularly those relating to twentieth century silver. It was at this time that Ralph first began to focus on the works of the master goldsmith Omar Ramsden.

Ralph also aquires the finest pieces of Antique Silverware from other renowened silversmiths including Bourdon Smith, Hunt & Roskell, Paul Storr, Paul de Lamerie, Edward Farrell, Hester Bateman, Martin, Hall, Emes Barnard, Henry George Murphy, William Chawner, Sampson Morden, Thomas Johnson, William Bateman, Francis Higgins, Edward Hutton, Charles Rawlings, Nathaniel Mills, John Linnett, E.H.
